thats what im looking for. i honestly dont think ill be satified unlesss i have a bike. for some reason i also want to go faster. this 65mph highway bullshit it stupid. 100 is my cruise speed =(

OP, I too have gotten an E30 up to around 6mph with the help of a push crew.

im not comparing a bike at to an e30 at all... im just saying that as far as top end pulls a bike is the only option that could scare the piss out of me as far as speed that i might actually be able to afford. i own an e30 now im building it for the track not top end so im not looking for an e30 to satify my need im just curios to others guys experiances. btw im 19.

On my stock 4.10 open I could only do 75 before it started to get noisy and

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, but bikes aren't scary per se, just fast as a ham sandwich. An unchecked car at 120MPH is twice as scary to me as a bike at 180.

Indicated? I think that's about 10mph fast. Still darn fast though.

P-car 160...

Since we're steadily cruising OT. No car will ever be fast to me again after owning 10+ sportbikes. Maybe I'm wrong and will get a ride in a Veyron on a closed course, or something else that can hit 200. I've been to an indicated 180 in a Saleen SR, and it felt fast once there, but not getting there. I imagine 160 in a Porsche is quite uneventful.

Back On-Topic, I really hope that none of the speeds being talked about or shown on here are being done on the street.

I had the speedo on my SVT Focus buried at 160 before, they supposedly gear out at 172mph. It was a long downhill stretch of highway at night with no cars to be seen in front of me so I dropped a few gears and went till I got scared. I peeked down as the needle was at the pin a bit past 160. Never did that again, it was a hell of a rush but most cars arent very stable at speeds like that. Fastest I've ever been was around 190 in a friends Murcielago. It took about as much time as my E30 takes to get to 75mph and felt like we were doing 80 :nice:

130-140 in the turbo m42 on a track. It read closer to 150 on the speedo, and this is estimated from the speeds other guys in my run group were hitting.

A guy I work with used to work at a huge high end dealership chain called Inskip out here; Roger Penske owns it. When they won with the Porsches in P2 a few years ago they had Tom Kristensen at the dealer with a Veyron showing off, and my coworker got a ride in it with Tom driving. He has a video on his phone of it, the Veyron hit 197 at the end of the highway onramp. I take this onramp to lunch all the time, the best I've been able to do was 112 before the end haha. And thats with the V8. My 540 can barely get to 95.

Starter went out over the weekend so I had to push start my car today, think we made it to about 4 mph.

But I pushed mine to just over 100 indicated a little while back, was bored on a stupidly flat, straight highway with no traffic. As soon as I hit ~105 the chrome trim above the driver side window flew off and scared the shit out of me. Decided to back off at that point.

got my old 87 325e up to 129 once, seriously took forever!! 120 was easy it was just that last 10mph , 4th gear close to 5k , no chip ( that i knew of ) and a 2.93 lsd, went to 5th gear and started to slow down. my vert pwns that car lolz
