I would love to see someone finally figure this out. Recently it seems like there's been more and more talk about a product like this. Not having to mix and match parts + fuck the suspension geometry = win.

But as many have already stated, if this whole thing was remotely simple to sort out, it would have been done by now. Not even the tuners have an offering.

That being said, I just got back into e30's this past summer after 6+ years away. Man things have changed. It was amazing to see what people in this community have come up with and marketed. Case in point: remember "Project Orca"? Whoa, a twin cam engine in an e30? Now tons of people have done it thanks to folks like you.

I spoke with a few guys who also thought about the possibility of using e28 hubs with a little modification on the front. I haven't had a look to see the specifics, but you could maybe have a look into that too? - They'd surely allow a lower offset and more dissshhh! :D

Why would you not want a 72.56 hub bore? What wheels do you get access to with less than that? It seems utterly stupid to force everybody to get hubcentric rings to accommodate unlikely wheels.

Unlikely wheels? My reasoning is that you can get very nice and reasonably priced wheels from vrwheels or memoryfab or numerous other JDM importers. Those wheels are likely to come in more narrow centerbores. Many of them can be redrilled easily to accommodate a 5x120 bolt pattern. I don't like the idea of boring the centerbore AND redrilling a wheel, but that's just me.

My reasoning behind the smaller diameter centerbore is to allow for more wheel options and to allow for more people to get into quality wheels at a reasonable price.

Point 3, the e30 M3 hub is a real possibility, but if the center bore and offset numbers don't make sense, then that will be ruled out. I was even thinking that the e36 rea hub would work because the e30 and e36 use the same wheel bearing. However, just off the top of my head, I believe that the splined section of the axle is a different size and this has likely already been explored many times by others having the same thought.

I've tried this... however I never did try to stick an E30 axle spline into the E36 hub... but it wouldn't have worked anyways because the E36 rear hub was very shallow, its offset was too far inside and it was hitting against all of the ebrake mechanism. The only way to run an E36 rear hub is to ditch all the ebrake jazz, and run a spacer in behind the disc to the hub to push the disc out far enough so any normal disc won't run into the backing plate. Again, assuming the halfshaft spline is the same lol.

To clarify a couple things, I am not interested in fitting the biggest brakes possible under an e30. As an experienced e30 race car driver I can tell you with 100%$ certainty that massive brakes are not at all necessary on an e30. I run stock rotors and really good brake pads on a 2400 car with aero and I still get in to the ABS. With the ABS turned off, I could make use of larger brakes, but I don't think for a second that it would be worth the additional unsprung weight that e36 calipers and rotors would add.
I know that being able to run a larger variety of wheels and the esthetics of bigger brakes are the appeal here, but I just wanted it to be known, that I am not looking in to this b/c I think the e30 braking system is inadequate.

Point 2, don't be in any sort of hurry to see these things. This was simply a feeler to see if it made sense financially and to get public opinion on the tech points that I mentioned. I have access to the brake rotor and caliper information too, but I have not had a chance to research it. There are shit-tons of 5 lug rotors out there and I am confident I can find one that will sit in there just right and make use of a light weight, affordable, readily available caliper. My only concern there is the adapter bar which I really want to avoid.
