    BAVAuto Open Backorder w/BMW?

I placed an order for a early plate filler and "318" emblem a few weeks ago, but never got the part. I called them, and they said the parts had been on "open backorder" from BMW since august and september, respectively. I am wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else here, and more importantly, do I have any hope of ever getting my parts?
    Thank You

Bav Auto is NOTORIOUS for parts being backordered. I used to order from them all the time years ago (until I knew better), and I don't think a single order of multiple parts ever had everything I ordered in it, something was always backordered.

Cancel your order. Guten Parts has the fillers in stock.

This. Bav Auto is the BMW parts catalog for typical BMW douchebags.

We're a much higher class of BMW douchebags.

IF it's actually back ordered from BMW themselves, nobodies going to be able to get it from you unless they have an inventory themselves (be it IE, Blunt, Bav Auto, BMA, Guten, Etc.) until either BMW does another run through it's suppliers or they simply mark it NLA. BavAuto might have been 'notorius' for back orders simply because either they did not keep track of back ordered items, or an item could be coming from Germany.

Best bet is to call any of the previously mentioned sources with the BMW part number BEFORE ORDERING, they should be able to tell you about current availability within a minute or two most of the time.

Note that this most often applies to BMW specialty parts, not like wheel hubs, bushings, or parts that can simply be ordered through a vendor with access to a warehouse like IMC,SSF, or WorldPac.

"Knowing better" means knowing how to order to get what you want in the first place.

They do this. It only bothers me when it is not communicated.

I have had many parts take several months to come from Germany. I think the neon green m-tech interior bits and some of the vert top seal bits took the longest. About three months I waited. Only once have I had a part go nla on me when realoem didn't have it as ended when I bought it.

I order through blunt most of the time but I used to order from bav no problems since their shipping is next day for me since I'm one state away.

If you haven't received the part yet then ask for your money back and go to Guten parts

Hah, you're in line behind me. I've had an early plate filler on order from them since early november. They told me they were getting 2 a month and that I would get mine in mid-december. It's December 31st, I still don't have it.

I always order from bav auto. The only time Sometging like this happened was when they didn't have my bumper mounts in stock. They told be about this on paper that came with the rest of the order. I got the mounts the next week instead of the next day. Its not bav auto's fault that BMW doesn't have the parts in stock. They're costumer service is also really good IMO. I've called them severel times and they helped me everytime.

Wow alot of hostility toward a fairly decent vendor. I attend their show and know some of the guys at the place by name.

If you are local and have a lower price for same item they match price like all other big houses, My only gripe is when they outsource a part marked as OEM with a non OEM piece. Shipping to me in one day is great.

Tell them you are dissatisfied with customer service and ask what they can do to rectify it. Companies can't improve if you don't tell them what is wrong.

Got a free pizza the other day due to bad service.

OK so what about UUC being back order? Ive been waiting on a set of swaybarbarians for over 2 months and have called them 4 times. Kept getting in production then in powder coat. Yesterday I got it will be shipped any day same as I got 2 weeks ago. It will be canceled monday if no emails come.
