    New cars are so Ugly

    Or is it just me?

At first I thought that after being exposed to so many gorgeous old cars, new cars just can't come close to comparing. It's like once you have too many beautiful women, average women become about as attractive as a man. Maybe this is why I don't find new cars good looking.

Don't get me wrong there are some beautiful new cars, but even the most beautiful new cars don't do much for me because I can think of at least five old cars that look so much better.

I doubt this is a new topic but I only gave a half-assed search. So what do you all think about this?

      This.

Also, once upon a time cars were built by engineers and enthusiasts, now they're just made by accountants.

nope. massive roof pillars, bloated styling, increasing weight, young hipster designers that havent got the slightest bit of taste for good conservative, classy design. must every new car look like a running shoe? ugly dashboards with abstract shaped air vents? what was wrong with rectangle ones?

youll never see me in a car newer than 1995.

              You've stolen my heart sir.

Haha yeah I guess safety standards and the government can be blamed, somewhat...

But I think that a lot of it is people are just too afraid to step outside the box, anything radical will never get approved by a big car company for fear of it being a failure, but all that results in is almost cool new cars, but they're missing that extra Umph! that old cars were allowed.

Who needs all the new safety bullshit, I would rather die in a beautiful machine, then become paraplegic in an ugly pile of plastic and electronic junk.

I think most people on this forum do. It's not just safety regulations that are killing looks, it's the damned race to the biggest car. The E90 was fucking huge and the new F30 is even bigger!

I do agree but some newer cars do look pretty good. Alfa romeo 8c, Ford GT, BMW Z8, even Dodge Challenger, just to name a few. Granted the last 3 are retro, I think the alfa is just on of the most beautiful cars I've seen. Its no 250 GTO, but its just so full of emotion:

I want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)

                            Brezzi you da man!

Definitely watching cars get bigger every year as I grew up was a sore sight. And all we get in this "fuel crisis" is god damned hybrids! I almost got crushed by a hybrid Silverado the other day, huge and quite as a mouse, that shit just isn't right. Would've died without a clue.

Yeah I second the e46 and although it feels like a pig compared to an e30, the e46 still feels light and nimble compared to the newest models. Also, I think the e46 was the last model where you could get a sport package without staggered wheels...at least thats how it was on the sedans during the early production years that I owned. Having 225/17 all around contributed to the handling balance and helped that car dance around a bit despite its extra weight.
