          anyhow they keep statistics on these two cars and the 1/4 mile time is the same. And the eta is winning one lap and the 318 catches up and its an exciting exact same tie.

          I swear I wouldnt make it up.

          as far as take off ability.

          There is no reason a 318 should have a better 0-30 time.

          It is actually like 60 lb ft tq less, with a higher ration gear and 100 lbs on its side but it wont be close. It is close to gutless from the line losing out to most economy cars.


          the only eta I drove though was an automatic, it was some kind of like semi diesel vehicle sort of ride. Good off the line though but sad at about 35 mph.

                still doesn't mean the compression on the motor was good. My iS seems really buzzy and nimble, where a 325 is much quieter/smoother which can make a car seem slower- boring also. it is also 2 different styles of driving needed for those 2 motors. high RPMs aren't going to do anything for an ETA, where an M42 does NOTHING at 2000RPMs.

                I would probably rather have a good M42 than a stock ETA though.

                    Eta 1/4 mile = 16.8, top speed 120 (mine confirmed this)
                    318is 1/4 = 17.2, top speed 106

                    They are practically equal.

                        ^^ Although I cannot confirm I have to disagree, 5th gear, at 4k rpms I'm just over 90mph, I doubt 106 is really top speed?



                        According to the car's specs top speed should be 127mph in a 91 318is. I'm not sure where you got your statistics?

                        And you have confirmed that your Eta's top speed is 120.

                        I am going to do some 0-60 and quarter mile trial runs with my 318is
