You'd pass on a $300 part that is $650 new over a $9 paypal surcharge?

    I'd probably just pay the $310. :|

Absolutely! I hear a lot of bitching these days about the banks, Netflix, Verizon and everyone else adding fees. Why should we be held to a different standard?

Been using them for over 12 years for my business and have never asked the buyer to cover the fee. I also will not do business with people that ask me to cover the fee or to send as a gift.

It's the cost of doing business.
+1. I've had my ebay account since 99. I can't even imagine going back to the days of waiting for a check or going to 7-11s to get a money order.

Sending it via gift is a bad idea anyway unless you trust the person 100% or it's a small amount.

That's your own perogative, and your own fault to why you would get charged extra. Not saying I disagree with you, but they put it out plain and simple.
But the other way is just to have funds already in your paypal. Easy peasy.

because credit unions and amazon payments offer better choices so unless banks and paypal start listening to their customers more they're going to lose out in the long run
