Yes Perez should be driving a Ferrari next year.... I may be in Austin if they have some decent camping areas trackside, but doesn't sound too good. I absolutely loved camping across from Indy for all those f1 races.

Aside from the early race "events" and some of Kimi's highlights, it wasn't a terribly exciting race. My take on what I saw....

Grojean - clearly at fault and being banned from the next race @ Monza is totally justified. Granted F1 cars are quite safe, it's amazing no one suffered injuries in that pile up.

Maldonado - dude needs to really straighten up or GTFO of F1. He's occassionaly showed signs of great driving, but his visits to race officials for "events" this year outweigh his one win at Spain. He did bring significant sponsor backing to Williams, but we all know ones driving ability cannot be measured by the bankroll which you carry.

Button - brilliant (albeit boring) drive. Pole, the win....and how about his one stop for tires, just 2.6 seconds?!?!? That was damn impressive pitcrew work. Cheers McLaren.

We've got some friends that may go, but we decided against it.

There isn't any real infrastructure developed to support the race and apparently they won't even have any areas for camping. Are friends may not get to go since all the hotels in the area have quintupled prices or more and requiring 4-5 day stays..........so a $2000 hit just for the room.

I'll check it out in a few years when they have the issues ironed out.

I remember my dad taking us to the first few NASCAR events at Texas Motorspeedway..........it was a fucking nightmare.

Meh, I much prefer them to that one metro guy with no motorsport experience (something Humphrey IIRC) and Eddie Jordan's voice, to be honest. DC is mildly tolerable mostly because he has competed against half of the current field already. Speed's team is pretty complete, they'd be intolerable if it weren't for Matchett and Hobbs. I just get so tired of Speed's BS (constant commercial breaks, switching from Speed to Fox, etc.) I wonder if that fabled 'Speed 2' is any better in that regard.

I thought the Grosjean penalty was a bit harsh.......the stewards seem so inconsistent the last few years.

Blatant. His Williams is moving forward (before he veers to driver's right) while the red lights are still illuminated. He even stated "the clutch slipped out of my hands before the red lights switched off." It was 100% worthy of the five-place grid penalty he'll be receiving at Monza (not to mention the additional five-place penalty he's getting for the incident with Glock.)

The statistics speak for themselves, he's had countless stewards' inquiries and countless penalties/fines for his excessive aggression and excessively poor decision-making. I'm not even hitting the beaten horse "he's a pay driver wah wahhh," he's just a shit driver who fellow drivers constantly regard as being dangerous and unruly. His driving style is indicative of even Hamilton's worst days, get him the fuck out of Formula One.

    /rant

All and all, another exciting Belgian GP though. Although I've never been a huge Button fan, it's nice to see him not only secure a race win, but also hoist himself up into the higher point-paying positions. Hated to hear about Mike having nein sechs gang, hopefully he'll be able to deliver at Monza. I'm just glad to see my homie 24 points away from catching Alonso up in the WDC standings.

And what the fuck was the deal with Hamilton's telemetry tweet? What a doofus.
