The front bumper cover and lower grill on my '98 528i is pretty messed up and I need to replace it. would you consider an M5 front end a cosmetic upgrade or ricer/poseur-ish? I don't have //M badges or anything like that. The car is completely stock otherwise.

Moved to general....the 5 series section is for E28/E34...not E39.
It would look BAD w/o a matching REAR bumper and skirts imho and wheels/suspension.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

Depends if you have sports package or not. If it's black with sports package like mine is then the M5 bumper will blend right in, otherwise, you will have to change trims and get the rear as well. The rep bumpers aren't bad at all either. Do it...do it immediately. The stock front bumper doesn't do the car justice.

M5 rep bumpers in SoCal are like $200 front and $180 rear. Cheaper if bought together. At that price, you'd be crazy not to upgrade. I sold my stock bumper cover for $80."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj
