Hey 750, make your sig bigger, I can't see it....

Kit cars are always sketchy, I'd never buy one used because I wouldn't know how capable the person who put it together was. In terms of a part failing multiple times it might be the installation procedure on the instructions that's off or the part itself.
      Lucky guy.

It looks to me like he has either one shoulder strap or a Y-harness. Either way, I'd never be driving an open top car without a cage or a much more substantial roll bar. And you're correct about the arm restraints... I'd NEVER be in an open top car without them. Fixed back supported seat, 5pt harness, full cage, and a HANS is the only way I'll ever race. A hobby isn't worth dying over.

            The guy is lucky. Period.

After that video was over I realized my hand was falling asleep because it was clenching my arm rest.

              That was intense.

It kinda makes you wonder if there is a design flaw with the kit cars?

Some of the cars use the front suspension and rear suspension from an E34. I had to make subframe bushings for the rear to make it sit squarely to the body. http://www.backdraftracing.com/default.asp

                      Lets see...

The driver is in an open topped car with only a roll hoop (not a cage), isn't wearing a HANS, and doesn't have arm restraints. Either a death wish or really likes living on the edge.

The only thing I can see right is that the visor is down.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

That slow motion shot is just incredible. Can't believe he wasn't seriously hurt.

He is also very lucky that the car rolled to the opposite side and not his side first, at those speeds it probably would have been a different outcome. Besides being very lucky, he should have tried to grab his harnesses to prevent any loss of limbs.

So I watched this again today, just to really analyze and take in this pure chaos. Its crazy watching it in slow motion, the trunk literally rips off like it was a tab on a can of soda. The best part is you can see the rear license plate come flying off the trunk and if you pause it just at the right time, you can read the guys license plate numbers as it fly's by his head and camera! Just goes to show the G-Forces his body was exposed to during the crash.

I still can't believe this guy walked away from this.

No arm restraints in an open vehicle, loose belts, inadequate roll protection...he was VERY lucky.
