This guy is lucky to be alive...

Couldn't imagine a crash at a 130+mph, little alone in an open cockpit type vehicle. Someone up there wants this guy down here for a bit longer.

Geeeeeez, that was crazy! His head never actually came into contact with the ground. He was definately looked out for on that one.

Thats what I was thinking too! :p Actually now that I think about this, it would be an awsome GoPro Commercial for them. I mean if it can take that kinda of licking! :)

The UFO behind him made him crash.

But seriously, holy hell that had to be scary.

Yes, this guy is very lucky to be able to walk away from that. This isn't the first time I've seen suspension parts fail on a cobra replica. A couple years ago we had one loose the front wheel at an autoX, the whole spindle ripped away from the control arms on the passenger side. It kinda makes you wonder if there is a design flaw with the kit cars?

You feel something wrong going into the fast part of the track. I am thinking yea at this point I start slowing down.

makes you realise just how much you move around when "locked in"....even though your harness is tight. And there are good reasons to wear arm restraints in open cockpit cars. All the USAC guys wear them. This dude is lucky to be alive, especially lucky to not have broken one or both of his arms!!!!
