They are rare, not sure if anybody has any numbers on production of them though.

More common in euro than USA. Either way they are quite uncommon.

BMW does not release production figures for chassis models. I think it depends on WHERE you live, reason I say that is in Europe cars are made alacarte aka all options, no options or one or two options.

I don't think I saw a single E30 in Germany with a factory sunroof. That were for sale that is.

I had one, they are out there..... but I would not sacrafice the Uber cool crank roof for the slick top unless I was going racing.

I have one, sunroofs are gay and even more so if you have to crank to open it.

Bah. My 6-banger e30 has a crank sunroof.

Lighter than the motorized one ...

Slicktop is lightest of all, of course.

Check M42club I found a thread awhile back where one member had Emailed part of a BMW corp. Group about the prod. Numbers. It was supposedly like 3 to 6 percent of all E30s were 318is slicks. I want to say it was around the 7k or below mark. If I find that thread Ill add a link

Since they're rare, they would be a little more expensive, right?

Mines a slicktop. Mostly because racecar. But I also like how the headliner looks.
