I wish I knew how to post this inline, but either way, it was a sad day for this e30.

Of course she said I was going SOO fast she didnt see me, although its pretty clear she broadsided me while turning left...my LF corner bounced off of hers. She still had the phone to her ear when I snapped my first pic of her behind the wheel. You cant see my skidmarks but she hit me where she sits and I kept going about a car length.
The tierod (from my xmas day e36 rack swap) snapped clean so I had it towed home. The hood is actually undamaged and in place, the fan shroud popped so there was some DS to PS movement, and obviously the bumber brackets are not happy (although the bumper itself may be undamaged).
2 cops, the tow truck driver and my insurance co all seem to think its pretty clear what happened. I opened a claim with her company and am supposed to hear from the adjuster tomorrow. It was funny when the claims CSR said the adjuster would arrange for a rental car and I asked her why they would do that before they decided liability. She laughed since I guess it was obvious to her too who was at fault. I mean she was pointing 90 degrees to the flow of traffic after turning left.
Oh..and my hood did not pop. I opened it to see what was going on. No leaks.

The first pic will show you my skidmarks. You can clearly see the point at which she hit me where the skidmarks jogged right.
The 2nd pic is my snapped tierod. I remember reading how some people used the e36 tierods when doing the rack swap as they are "beefier". I'm glad this was wasntSeat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

Looks like King St. and 4th. I live close by. Sorry to see you got hit. NC has some stupid laws when it comes to assigning fault. Hopefully it will work out for you, even so, insurance will likely consider the car totaled. IF you are in the market for a Euro E30 let me know. I'm thinking of selling to get a BRZ.sigpic

Glad you're okay.
The good news is...her adjuster is here now, even before they have decided who is officially at fault. I think my strut is bent as its almost touching the wheel on that side and my BBS will need to be refinished. I'll have to post a sympathy list of parts...lol...but how hard can it be to find a diving board.
I have a feeling I know what the damage bill will run to so its just a matter of if he cant justify enough value in the car to just cut me a check. Grabbing a replacement tierod today so in theory, I could be driving it this weekend.
Wish me luck :-)Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

Hard to say at this point if the strut tower has moved (very bad) or if the strut itself is bent (not so bad). The tire is almost touching the strut so thats more likely to be the strut itself. I'll know more when I get a tie rod on and test drive it but its pretty well going to be a total loss for insurance so its time to arm wrestle with the adjuster to see how much I can get. Im sure it will be driveable though not sure if thats the route Ill take.
At least now I dont have to go find a parts car. I just made one :-(Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

looks like she didn't yeild, I hate lights like that. It always scares me when I just see a car waiting in the middle of the road to turn at an intersection. And theres a little gap between you and the car in front and they try to jet through. So many accidents I see are because of that shit. They just need to make them turn lights."I wanna see da boat movie"

As I mentioned earlier, the DS tire is closer to the strut housing than the PS (1/8 vs say 1/2"). Besides the snapped tie rod I now see that the CA is twisted which is putting some stress on the tube but I cant tell yet if the tube is actually bent or is just "loaded" and could come back once the CA is very carefully removed (I understand the kinetic potential).
Is it possible it could spring back and...is my Bilstein Sport likely to have survived if the strut tube didnt bend that much?
Thanks.Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com
