I don't think so. Closest you can come to a "clean" title after a salvaged title would be to fully restore and register it under a resto title. Sorry, but they do it for future buyers of the car, and alot of people and get screwed over by recleaning a title.
yes there actually is a way but its going to take you 10+ years. just non op it then wait 10+ years and then the dmv drops the records and then bam re register it with a bill of sales....wa-la clean title
A salvage title might be significant, or it might not be. When the car was new it would require significant damage to result in a salvage title. But for a twenty year old car a minor fender bender can have the same result. Typically insurance will total the car (resulting in a salvage title) when the cost to repair reaches 75% of its current value. When the car was new that repair cost would have to be in the $20k range, but now a $1200 repair cost has the same result. And there can be other, non damage, causes for a salvage title.
I have a car that I purchased from a junk yard. The engine is toast and the interior is no better than average for an 86. The paint is poor but the body is nearly perfect and there is zero rust. It has no title now, which isn't a problem as I intend to turn it into an SE30 or pure track car. But if I wanted to make it into a street car it would carry a salvage title.
You really have to know what happened to the car and when to tell if a salvage title is meaningful. And in the case of cars of this age a salvage title may have little to no affect on the current value of the car.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

My car has a salvage title. It was involved in a minor fender bender before I bought it. I would never buy a late model car that actually costs a decent bit with a salvage title but being a beat up old E30 it doesn't bother me.
my m50 vert i had, had a salvage title for flood damage.
when ill4noreason got the car we looked it over and found no signs of flood damage, but the motor was obviously fucked, we came to the conclussion the PO had abused it and claimed he hydrolocked the motor for insurance purposes, so we had an amazing swap canidate that had a salvage title, no biggie, but we did investigate it to be safe
I wouldn't by shit with a salvage or rebuilt title. Think of your resale value. Your gonna always have to explain what happened etc. Salvage cars are never the same.
I drive one fully restored e30 with a salvage tittle no problem no one cares it was stolen at one point sold into auction and now its mine with salvage tittle
stolen car that was recovered after the insured was paid out will get a salvaged title. Apparently you can go through the DMV and get it changed back to clean if you can prove that it was just stolen not in an accident.
That being said, if it is a one owner car, stolen is pretty much out of the question. Probably in a wreck at some point that wasn't "worth" fixing.
I would find out what happened and inspect. If its anything that could be frame related I would walk away especially considering that price. It seems high for a salvaged car.
All depends on the state, in florida you can title a custom made vehicle thanks to the guys at sema or even you can bond a title and wait 6 years to get a clean tittle if you dont even have one to start with. But like I said it depends on your state. anyway the dmv will issue you a salvage rebuildable title to tag and drive
