    VW mk2 Purchase/ Questions

Don't know much about VW's at all. Any thoughts on the reliability or problems of this car? Good deal?

Without seeing your car I can say you can find better. That one probably has a lot of hidden issues.

A properly sorted mk2 can be very reliable and a great daily.

Don't buy that mk2 for that money. Shell doesn't look clean and it's got tons of different parts butchered together and you'll never be able to fix it properly. Just sell your car and get a nice stockish mk2 for 3~4k

Front end of the car should line up MUCH better than that. That motor in a mint shell would be worth that, but that thing looks to be hiding a lot of issues.

^^^ all of the above. I would stay away from a car like that! Did anyone catch the Gatorade bottle for a catch can? These VW guys always amaze me.

I agree 100%. I'm not saying my vw's are always 100% functional, but it seems like idiots are buying up clean vw's and ruining them at an astonishing rate.

The very fact that nobody has replied in his thread, but him, is reason enough to stay away.

The gatorade catch can just solidifies it.

This is my car. It would be an even trade or his car +$500

The picture of your car looks fairly clean, i would expect him to owe you a bit more than $500 if you trade. The car looks very shifty though, I can't stress that enough.
