I absolutely LOATH my MK2 Jetta. Granted, it is just a 4-door 8v, but that thing is the most boring, unexciting, uncomfortable thing I've ever driven and stupid little shit is CONSTANTLY breaking on it. One day a few weeks ago I had the ignition lock start sticking, the drivers side door handle stop working, the passenger side front fender flair come off/loose and developed an exhaust leak. ALL IN ONE DAY!

    HATE this fucking car.

    Cliffs: DON'T FUCKING DO IT!

That one sucks. Besides, A1 Golf > A2 Golf.

Same motor I wanted to build, vws are all about the love you give back to them. They break and bite back. Honestly the worst thing about mk2s are the really shitty engine management. That's not a bad price for a built mk2 although the guy went a little guage crazy and those stupid hood latches. If it was your first mk2 I would find a bone stock unmolested one to start with and go megasquirt asap. Car has potential though but not for a beginner.

Oh and I spent almost every penny trying to fix what every other retarded previous owner did to that car. It never ran right but I loved it.

Good thing we told you. That looked like a trap. Especially since the owner cant spell. Or punctuate. Or spell.

Here's the most important thing you should know about VWs. They're front wheel drive. nuff said.

You should get something like this..clean & stock with documentation.

                        http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...-want-this-one!!!

Or at least something like this.

I bought butchered mk2 jetta 16v (chipped 16v from passat, kinetics turbo kit, B&G suspensions, etc) and it never ran properly...

on paper hes got some great stuff going on but if youve never owned a mk2 and expect a great running reliable daily out of that your way out of your league. I'd pick up a stock/lightly modified 16v gti or gli and spend sometime in the mk2 forum on vortex. they can be a really fun car but u have to make sure your up on maintance.
