I'm no Honda fanboy, but calling the NSX 'just' a mid engined Honda is quite the understatement. And for those of you comparing the NSX to an E36 M3, have any of you looked up any numbers about the 2? Well I did, because I could see no way they were even close in performance terms. So check this out:
0-60:
NSX-4.7
Euro E36 M3-5.5
E46 M3-4.8
E92 M3-4.3
Nordschleife time:
NSX-7:56.7
Euro E36 M3-8:35.0
E46 M3-8:22.0
E92 M3-8:05.0
Hockenheim short:
NSX-1:14.6
Euro E36 M3-1:17.2
E46 M3-1:16.3
E92 M3-1:14.0
Now I will admit those were times taken with the last gen NSX-R, but keep in mind that's still with 'only' 276 hp. And you guys have to realize that yes, by todays standards the NSX isn't particularly fast at all, but it was designed 25 years ago, and started production in 1990. It is a fact that it put Ferrari and Lamborghini on notice that an exotic car can actually be reliable and well built.

Thank you, both this and the LFA performance posts are the few decent things saving this thread.1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.

And to be honest, I have a feeling that IF I ever get the oppurtunity to drive a NSX agressively, it will be one of the most rewarding cars I will ever drive. And I could honestly care less if I ever end up behind the wheel of an E36 M3. You would think, that being E30 owners, more of us would understand that a well balanced, setup car means far more than the sum of it's parts, or the kind of numbers it can put down on paper.

The thing I have heard about the NSX is that it's very easy to drive to and at the limit, for a mid engined "supercar" anyway.1985 M10b18. 70maybewhpoffury. Over engineered S50b30 murica BBQ swap in progress.

What's understood doesn't need to be talked about.

I have a cool bro story about NSX.
See this guy I know, well his neighbour is the Ferrari dealer here in Adelaide. But he don't drive no Ferrari he drives a NSX. He thinks the NSX is a better build quality and more balanced then the Ferrari's.
So the neighbour on the other side had a Ferrari 360 and sold that and bought an NSX as well.
Tru story bro cool.sigpic

No, it's not. It's because the car is balanced and tuned correctly.
You cannot show me a purpose built mid engine car that won't handle easily at a limit of a whopping 270 horse. FACT! If sure its a great chassis its just super unfortunate they couldn't engineer a great motor to go along with it.I want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)

i have driven it and let me tell you; It is an AMAZING machine definitely a super car for its time, compare it to other cars out at the time. My brothers friend Dan who lives 5 min away from me as well owns this NSX GT with ITB's. The sound is pure heaven.
Im not defending honda/acura because i hate most of them.i own an e30 and my brother owns an e46 for his daily.
But i really think it is a supercar you really have to drive it and be around them to appriciate them.
