1991 mtech appearance package vert...should I buy it?

Looking for honest opinions here on the value of this car.

    The good:
    It has 75,000 miles..(odometer works)
original paint, no rust(Florida car), still shines
no cracks in the dash or seats
    All original and unmolested

    The bad:
    Automatic
    Top does not operate
Small 2 inch dent on front fender

Owner is firm on $4000. Are these mtech e30's rare? Sorry no pics, but it is as I
have described it. Any thoughts or opinions greatly appreciated

It is an authentic mtech appearance package convertable, white on white with the 14" white bbs basket weaves. This I am sure of as I ran the vin number through BMW dcs.

I wouldn't really say the fact that it's automatic is a downer since all mtech 2 appearance packages came automatic from the factory. For a super low mileage MT2, I think that is a good price. I would buy it if I were you.

If you are looking for the car to keep and enjoy that is a fair price from what you have described. If you are looking to make lots of money by turning the car quickly you may be disappointed. I guess the questions is do you like this type of E30, if you do this would be a good one to pick up.

              Cheers,

Marginally more than what I paid for my DB (albeit cleaner) 'vert with 128k. Go for it.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I would have bought something like you're describing in that price range if I didn't prefer my color and earlier kit.

Sounds like a nice car with low mileage. Hard to judge it without a few pics though. Don't buy it because it's rare. Considering they made 49 White Automatics in 4/91 alone and we know the majority of them were 92 year models...you have to figure there's a shit load of them and that's just the automatics. There are some manual trans appearance package cars out there but they are rare. Of all the M techs, white is by far the most common. In fact there are quite a few on this forum. It does sound like a good buy at $4k.

I've seen similar cars to what you are describing sell for way more in less condition. I'd go for it if I were you.

I have a 92 that was in way worse shape when I picked it up. I'm pretty sure I'm 4k in at this point... Id go for it.... and 5 speed swap it
