I think an s14 will never be over price at all. Each day they get more rare nd expensive. If I had the money I would so get that shipped to ny . at least thats my point of view.

The price is about right but it's been sitting for a decade.

I heard of someone selling his blown up s14 for 7k

When it costs almost 2k to get a hg done, 4700 is a steal. I'd imagine someone will buy it as a back up....

I looked into an S14 swap for a short amount of time. Between S14.net and bfc, I saw an average of $3500-$6000 for an S14 in a range of conditions. I would probably pay $4K for that setup since it includes a lot of goodies.

However, do you have any idea what kind of monster M20, M5X or S5X you could build for that?

I could probably dig up a complete e30 and do all the typical maintenance and have a halfway decent car for that money.

Bought a combo ie engine and transmission about 4 years ago, for 5k same premise was for an M2 that owner got the ultimatum, it goes or she was going. Short story, IT went.

Engine had sat for 7 years in heated garage and was turned over by hand about every 3 months with oil in piston bores. Getting to meat of story, installed it in my Alpinewiess M3 and fired right up.

If some one needs a Cut and labeled M2 harness I have one. It was done by Pete McHenry. I had to buy a harness for mine as both Harness were cut, one from car had been cut for megasquirt the other M2.

TMS might still have a engine loom, I got mine from them about three years ago.

Think that is a bit high but overall a very good price if the Leak down numbers and compression numbers are good. I wonder if the rod bearings have been done?

i just don't see the allure of this engine. sure it has itb's and would be great in an original m3. i guess it would also be great in an 02. as mentioned above, there is just so much more bang for the buck out there. you can purchase an s54 for this kind of money and less.

i perceive the s14 as being akin to a high strung poodle taking speed. for my money, i'll buy a rottweiler instead.

It's old school, Some like some don't. Nobody says you have too enjoy it. I used to feel the same way about them. Now I own 3, trying to source a head for my 2.5L bottom right now but I have to put food on the table so it takes a back burner. Lol.

S52 Turbo or SC'd is alot more fun but does not make you an energy observant driver, it's just mash the vertical pedal.

There's been one for sale on my local CL for a bit now. Listed at $5k but "could use refreshing" so no idea what actual condition it's in.
