    Got my tools today

Today was tool day. Our school (LTI) includes them with tuition costs, but we only have two options, napa or KD. I went with the napa set. We get a 140 piece set with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drive sockets and ratchets. All wrenches from 15/32 to 1 inch (metric as well), screwdriver set, 10 in one torx/combination driver, vise grip set, channel locks, needle nose, and slip joint pliers, allen set, chisels and punches, ball peen hammer and soft mallet.

They also got us test light, flashlight, feeler gauges, plug gapper, and a very nice Fluke digital multimeter. <- Probably the best thing given and @ 130 bucks for the meter should be pretty good.

I'll probably use this set through school and just before I'm out pick up the beginnings of my master set while I still get a discount.

haha, the matco guy comes by our shop occasionally and we just look at those 'sale' flyers and prettymuch laugh at how much a freaking socket set or screwdrivers or whatever costs. Where I work though we can get snapon cheaper anyway, so its all good.

Yea, I think I will be getting snap-on. The matco guy comes at least every other week I think. We get good discount of boxes through matco, havent looked at snap-on yet. It is anywhere from 35-53 percent off most places. Work will be so much better with the right tools.

If you are looking for a decent box with out spending 5k look at Harbor Freight's unit. At $350 for the lower section and $200 for the side unit it makes a great starter unit. Or Used, ask the drivers ie Matco, Snap-On if they have any repo-tools. You can get some good bargins that way too.

Buy as much shit as you can while you still have your student discount. Snap-On tools are ridiculously expensive retail.

At UTI we got a nice Blue Point DMM. I like it i guess.

And yes, we get 1000 worth of tools, at 1/2 price. I plan on just getting the biggest box I can, and fill it with Craftsman tools lol.

snap on is overpriced, it isnt the shit.

There are companies out there who offer the same quality tools but arent total arseholes when it comes to warranty claims. Ever tried to send something back to snap on? fuckers are like insurance companies :o
Just a little project im working on
