Well they are most likely international students they have the money to spend. I mean I see GTR and M6 around campus often, but a toyota camry over in asia are like almost double what they cost here in the states. And their tuition are double the price.

I know in some countries, the import tax is 200%

They pay double whatever we pay for their cars.

Down South here it's just white guy frat bros in huge trucks. Lifted diesels and stuff, high end GM SUVs, that kinda thing. The girls always have those Lexus SUVs or Landcruisers. None of them can drive for shit, it's terrifying.

I don't feel like I'm taking that out of context to prove a point or that I've misinterpreted anything, it's just a condensed version of what's happening here.

You know these people personally? Not to speak on their (the Asians) behalf, but a lot of the most respectful kids that I knew while growing up were very well off and had very expensive things. They knew what they had.

Pro tip: if you're going to insult my intelligence at least have the decency to use proper grammar.

Do you really find it strange that I think if you can't park the C63 coupe that your parents bought for you then you don't deserve to drive it?

Mr. Walker, this isn't a commentary on them as people, rather it is regarding the principle that you should have to work for your possessions rather then having them handed to you by your parents well into your adulthood.

to the OP: how the fuck do you know these kids didn't work for what they had though?
whether your interpretation of work is a 9-5 job and theirs' being earning straight A's with a full load of AP classes, it's totally subjective.
unless you know these 'asian kids' personally, you don't have any right to judge them.

How many 20 year olds have a job that makes enough money to buy a GranTurismo? Seriously man, listen to yourself lol.

My friend works his ass off to get straight A's as an engineering student and his reward is that he gets to keep his scholarships so he can afford to continue his education. He drives a Tercel. I'm excited to see if the UofO will reward me with a new M5 if I can keep my grades up once I'm enrolled in their law program.

you're contradicting yourself..i just said there's other definitions of 'work'

                            and good for you.
some parents choose to shower their kids with stuff purely as an incentive to keep it up and in some cultures; those same 'asian kids' will provide for their parents when they have worked their asses off and obtained a well-paying job later in life.
                            IT IS ALL SUBJECTIVE.
for you going into law you shouldn't be so one-sided with logical fallacies that make you look so.

I never contested the assertion that succeeding in college requites a great deal of work. I do, however, take issue with the idea that one could somehow be deserving of a brand new car just because you're doing well in school. Different types of work give you different rewards. I really shouldn't have had to elaborate on that.
