    Who needs cheap shipping...

...between MA and OH, or vice versa? :)

When I bring Dave's new car out, I'll have my pickup truck (8ft bed) and the 4 door on the trailer, so I can bring out anything that's too big or too obscure to ship. Hoods, fenders, seats, doors, windshields, whatever I can fit in the truck or in Dave's car. I'll be going from MA to OH, so anywhere in between is fair game. Also, if there's someone selling something inbetween here and there and you're on one end or the other, I'd be happy to pick it up for you.

Expect small charges ($20 or so a part) to cover. It's the least I can do!

And once we firm up the date, we can make a little meet and greet out of it. Come to my place, have some beers and help Scott and I load and unload cars.

This is the kind of offer that can make buying or selling a large item work, or not work.

I wish more folks would post this sort of thing- I know I often have an empty truck and/or trailer when running somewhere to pickup or deliver something.

I often go from the Raleigh, NC area to Charlotte, Richmond, Fredericksburg- so if you need something picked up or delivered somewhere in between those points, and you are flexible with your time frame and willing to pitch in a little $$$ to cover time + fuel- let me know!!

I wish people did too, hence why I am, now that I FINALLY own a truck!

Funny story - I put together a 94 Jeep Cherokee for my brother two winters ago - needed to get sheet metal for the front end. I hate paint, or paying for paint, so I found the parts I needed in the right color.

Sad part was, they were in TX :) Another Jeep guy had seen a truck in the salvage yard, took pictures, and sent them along. He said if I could work it out with the yard, he'd pull them off and ship them up for me.

Now, a fender and header panel with grille and headlights isn't a small item. Shipping would have KILLED me. But the guy that was pulling them for me said that he worked for a trailer sales company, and they had a depot in Philly - he could throw the parts on a truck and get them from TX to Philly FREE!

After hearing that, I was determined. Not long after that, I found a guy in PA that wanted one of my trucks, a Comanche. I told him if he could pick up these parts from the shipping depot, and deliver them to MA, he could have the truck free. He agreed. THEN I get another guy in NJ that offers to sell me his bumper for pennies. The guy coming up for the truck agreed to meet him and pick the bumper up too!

Just when I thought it couldn't get better, I found a set of mint leather seats - yup, you guessed it - in PA. Sure enough, he went over after I paid the guy via paypal and stuffed them in his Expedition, and headed up. I gave him my old Comanche with a blown motor, he handed me ALL the parts I needed - without spending a penny for shipping ;)
