Furthest your E30 has broken down

    As title says?
I'm driving my car down with Jafxod to SoWo 2012 which is in Georgia, we're in Jersey, about a 1500mile round trip. None of my E30s have ever needed a tow and these 24V motors are pretty bulletproof, but I cant imagine it ever breaking down on me so far from home. Anyone have any good stories?

Have you ever been stranded for whatever reason in it since you did the swap?

I had an old coolant hose rupture once on the way home. heat went away, so I refilled it twice on the way home, then put on a new hose.

Mine has never left me stranded. One time, I had a coolant leak due to a heater hose not being tightened up enough. It was losing fluid quickly and I had to top it off a few times on a hot cross-town drive.

My CPS decided to go funky on me on Vancouver Island, that's about 400 miles from home. Lucky there's a good wrecker there and I managed to get the CPS to come back to life for a short drive to my buddy's.

I was driving from my girlfriends parents house to our place in Brisbane [B] (Australia)
Auto trans blew up in the middle of nowhere near Rockhampton [A], which is about 700km (450mi) from home, a 9 hour drive. The place we broke down was empty and looked/felt like something out of "Wolf Creek"...

Waited 4 hours for a tow truck, Ended up getting towed to my insurance companies local place in Rocky, which also happened to be attached to a bmw dealer. Quotes me $6,500 to repair the car, after regaining conciousness I said I'd just have it towed home (insurance paid).
Then had to wait 2 days and get a 14 hour bus ride home...-.-

                      ^wow sucks

Mine has never left me stranded, I had to deal with a leaky coolant hose from philly to central nj one time though. Just fixed it when I got home.

My Zinno with a M20 never once broke down on me. Made several 500mi trips in it.

My S50 E30 (knocks on wood) hasn't had any issues. Drove it 500 miles the first day I bought it.

                            About 20 miles from home.

Started drizzling and traffic slowed down on the highway. Jamming to my tunes and had the lights on + defroster. Car just starts losing power. Should have known what was up when the radio started acting like an alien transmitter and eventually died while the antenna still stood high. Car eventually died in the fast lane and made it over to the left shoulder. 2 CHP officers came by (apparently there was an accident 1/4th mile over the crest) and asked if I needed a tow. They were cool about my 2 week expired tags and the 2nd one gave me a jump after I found that the retarded Alternator cable had freed itself.

Down time: 15min. including frantic call to the homies asking wtf was going on
