    S50 or M50 Boost

Right now I have a S50. I'm more than happy with the power, but I already have a daily driver. I have a considerable amount of cash coming in from my Zinno settlement so I'm considering two options:

Keeping the S50 and boosting it (4-5K budget) of course with a new HG, MS/TRM, ARP, etc.

    OR

Selling the S50, and buying a M50 for way cheaper to start from the ground up. Then rebuild everything prior to swapping it in, then having some extra cash towards das boost. (With the sale of the S50, my budget would probably be closer to 6k)

Is this a reasonable budget for a FI 24v? I of course have back up cash, but I don't want to piss away an insane amount of money. Is there any considerable difference between S50 and M50 reliability when it comes to boost? I've been seeing more and more M50's running FI lately.

Or just put the s50 in and call it a day.

BTW, you need to add "Rob" as one of the choices. Get it done. And, don't ask why. haha

It's not fast enough? Wow, I must be used to some slow cars. LOL

Take it to a track - you'll learn you have gobs more power than you can use. Trust me - my budget stroker m20 is fun on the track and it's got nothin on an s50. haha

But, if you really want boost - why not do it right and on the s50. Just take it slow and build it up. No reason to rush it, right?

Very true, might as well stick with the S50. I was just curious why I'm seeing so many M50 turbos going around. I guess it's because they don't have a S50 to start with, and M50's are dirt cheap. I was thinking maybe they were more reliable or some other factor, but it's probablly budget.

Oh, and as I said I'm more than happy with the power. It's definitely quick, but boost is boost haha, I'd love to go FI.

              Just boost the S50.
You have it already and a budget of 4-5k whch should be enough if you find good deals on parts.
You will make more power with less boost.
              Boost is fun.
              Just do it.

I'm going with M50 and boost, since the S50 we got here in the US is the shitty one with only 240hp, which would be cake on single digit amounts of boost.

Why not put a blower on the S50? I'm surprised that people with M5X or S5X don't supercharge more often...but then again, I am a sucker for the sound of a supercharged motor.

Am I missing something? Why is everyone going turbo?

s50 on boost is pretty silly. Like, scary silly.
If time isn't an issue, build the m50 on a stand for boost properly. Then sell the s50.
People say the m50 block is stronger and rods this, rods that, but we're at a day an age that the most proper tune can put all that caution to rest, assuming you're not building some high-horsepower frankenbeast.
