I don't really know much about crawling, but isn't pointing it in the direction and flooring it NOT the way to do it? I was under the impression you used super low gearing to slowly crawl to the top, not just bounce around up the hill and hope you make it.

The one in the video is a rock racer style rig. Rather than going through a set of cones on a hill, it has to go fast and do multiple things, such as race across the desert on a course and then hit rocks in order to finish various stages of the race.

Here's a video of last year's KOH racing to show more what that style of truck is made for.
