How to 'refresh' an e30...or not worth it?

So, I have an s50 e30. I have replaced a bunch of stuff. Subframe bushings, front control arms, CAB, springs, shocks, tie rods, trans mounts, etc etc etc.

It still feels like a 'rattle' filled project. I want it to feel like a firm completed car. There is still stuff I have to explain to people that get in the car etc. Can it be fixed or should I give up?

Do you guys put up with this or are your cars 'complete' so to speak?

I know that feeling. If everything is freshened up as you say it is, it's usually the interior and the things behind it. Try some sound deadening too.

did you go with OEM bushings or stiffer bushings? Are you on stiffer suspension or stock? Unfortunately, the more aftermarket "sporty-work" that's done and isn't replaced with stock/aftermarket-stock will make it noisy.

H&R sport springs & Bilstein sports. Stock bushings everywhere else. Slightly stiffer trans mounts. Did RTAB too. Only thing really left is the diff bushing and motor mounts. I have some rust I need to take care of, but I haven't had the chance.

I even spent all summer trying to get the air conditioning working. I succeeded, sorta. Still a small leak somewhere. I had to frankenstein the AC fittings though...so who knows. I have an e36 rack to put in.

I'm just complaining because I am frustrated. I see youtube videos of guys in their cars and they seem complete. Total. Maybe it is something intangible I feel with my car that someone else wouldn't notice. Not sure. Also, the paint bugs the crap out of me. Someone tried to match royal blue with a purple. Most people don't notice, but I do. I know exactly where they taped off the existing paint. Ugh.

Oh, also totally redid the brakes....but now I have an ABS ghost. Blah.

It's all part of owning an E30, things just pop up. However, I am looking forward to see if anyone comments on the powerflex bushings, I am considering a full set for this summer.

For a 24V swap? What did you do, buy the Zionville lines? If for a 24V hell ya I'll take'em for that price.

stiffer trans, motor and diff bushings will give you the rattle for sure.

If everything in the interior is nice and secured, rattles won't be nearly as bad. Years of cyclical warm to cold loosens things up.

Mine doesn't rattle at all. I've touched nearly everything on it too. It's a shame it has cancer.

Have a you ever removed and re-installed the rear seat back? When I did one time, in the process of running wiring for my stereo system, the car started to make a tweaky-rattling sound over bumps and hard turns.

Still haven't corrected it yet, will have to do it when I get my car with me.
