So I failed my emissions test....horribly...

heh. But what do you expect with a misfiring cylinder? I thought it was worth a shot.

    Hydrocarbons: Pass- 220PPM Measured- 1920PPM

    oops :)

Luckily, I should get the car into the shop on the 15th.

I hope it gets fixed, otherwise my registration gets pulled on the 24th...
My mountains are better than yours.

Sorry to hear that, hope mine turns out better than that. In CA the emissions are probalby alot harder to pass than in ID.

I just had my car smogged 2 weeks ago. It failed the emissions test. It is now in a shop, being diagnosed and fixed...hopefully so it passes smog.
The guy at the shop said 3 months ago it would have passed with no problems, but now there are higher emissions standards in California.

....this better not cost me a lot :?

You guys know what PISSES ME OFF?

CA keeps changing the laws! The cars have to be CLEANER then when they were new! They keep making harder for older cars to pass, so they leave the state!

It's their way of keeping older cars off the roads, and hitting the lower class people who don't have the $$ for a new car!!!

ARGH! CA can SUCK my Ass!

i feel the same way. CA is a great place to live if you forget the fact that everything is expensive and the emissions are somewhat impossible

so are the CA emissions regs worse than MA now... as far as I know MA surpassed CA in anal retentivness when they rolled out the dyno testing emissions deal a few years ago... they probably beat us now tho

...just got off the phone with the mechanic. He said by oxygen sensor is bad, and he wants $250 to replace it. And that my Cat isn't catching how it should. But he wants to replace the sensor first, then see if that does it.
Id rather spend $120 from BavAuto and replace it myself.

and that you should. Replacing O2 sensors is incredibly easy.

I've got a complete exhaust laying around... but i duno the condition of it. I might have the O2 sensor that it came with as well... but i'm not sure if its still good.
