My favorite was years ago my girlfriend and I were at a pizza joint, the 318 was parked on the street right out front. While we're sitting there, this mom and her son are walking out. He was maybe 4 years old.

As soon as he caught a glimpse of the e30 front end he pointed and yelled out, "BMW right there!" all stoked. She said, "He loves BMWs, his dad has one." I just thought that was awesome.

So if he was 4 then, that would make him 18-19 now. Wonder if it's one of you young bucks on here...

almost everytime I take the vert out for a summer drive.
I'll be at the gas pump, and I'll get the "what year is it or "nice car" compliment.
I typically don't answer...instead I start pumping my biceps in a flexing motion and start fake-dryhumping the gas tank a-la American Psycho with a stoich look on my face, and I wait until they break eye contact 1st.

i happen to think i have a nice-looking car (see sig), but most people around my area seem not to give two chits -- to them it's probably just an old heap. i do get compliments, but rarely, and only from other car guys.

an e30 m3, now that i could see getting complimented/thumbs-upped more regularly. a narrow body e30? no.

Am I the only one who enjoys the stare down game. The game of who will break eye contact first. I tend to loose, mainly due to the GF riding shotgun while making the Pshhh sound.
