Funny thing. When I drive my Silverado, I get no chicks rubber neck'n me.

But in my e30, they all give me little stare, or maybe it's just the car they are looking at. A much more likely scenario.

But it helps when you are this handsome.

Yep I get the usual "what year is that" but occasionally at the gas pump I'll get some nut that asks "does it run good???" I calmly smile and in my Napoleon dynamite voice reply; "see for yourself". Lol

but yea always positive reactions when people ask about. I got more compliments and questions when I had my ETA. Also sounded better to say it was an '87. It would blow people's minds. I miss that car

Awesome stuff, I really wish I got into one earlier, but better late than never! I was pretty set on owning the car I have now until it died/buying a later model and ultimately an e30 m3 but now this solidifies it.

I can honestly say, even with my interior half done, and it being rough all around in a few spots I enjoy the hell out of my e30.

Newer models are awesome but are a dime a dozen especially here in FL. Now that we can confirm a lot of people seem to like e30's, what's stopping them from getting one you think? Fear of part costs/mechanic? Fear of an old car in general?

Before I owned my car (has 200k+) I thought anything with that mileage was pushing it. Now, if I see a car with for sale with 250k I think "ok I'll just re-do the suspension, put a new timing belt etc and I'll have an awesome car, done!"

almost everytime I take the vert out for a summer drive.
I'll be at the gas pump, and I'll get the "what year is it or "nice car" compliment.
I typically don't answer...instead I start pumping my biceps in a flexing motion and start fake-dryhumping the gas tank a-la American Psycho with a stoich look on my face, and I wait until they break eye contact 1st.

    it's pretty common here.

Even with a smashed fender and bad paint I have received the cool car compliment. Just wish it was in better condition.

I get compliments all the time by people saying they had one back in the 80s.

I used to always get the "What year is that?" in my e30, and in my current E34 I get the same reaction. They don't believe me when I say 1990.

There are many BMWs in our parking lot at work, mostly newer. I get more compliments and questions about my e30 than I do my Lotus. I can't tell you how many times I meet someone with a newer BMW and hear "what year is that? I used to have one and I miss it! or I've always loved that body style!"

I am an ego maniac so I enjoy it tremendously.

When I bought my bone stock car almost 3 years ago, after about 15 minutes of ownership, I got a thumbs up and a "sick car man" from a guy in a clean mkIV gti.

Needless to say I new I had got myself a cool car

I get five or six thumbs up driving 30 miles home daily. A lot of people slow down on the highway next to me and take a decent stare and drive off. All positive reactions.
