This has been said before, but also hard to find any info on. When I say there's a difference from car to car, I have personally taken them off one 86 and put on another 86 and had an issue. Same with a 88 to 90 and an 86 to 88 m3.

Don't know what to make of it, just based on experience.

While there is a chance of your (OP) frame being tweaked, etc. To take that extreme of an assumption is presumptuous.

While IE lists that they (we) have made two length's in the past. The length between the strut tower can vary quite a lot. I've measured enough to see up to 1.25" (and some alleged higher than that) of variation on an otherwise pristine car. This is not based on differences made due to chassis year or model changes, there have considerable differences on cars within a few vin numbers from each other (let alone same year build dates). I can only assume that when the cars were built there was something about their construction that allowed for the differences (perhaps different assembly lines?).

Yes there can be sagging, etc. but this is beyond that.

It should. It might take a little wiggling like mine does, but it should drop right on.

Mine touched the fuse box a tad and rests over the top of the throttle cable. I drove it today with no issues, id say you will be just fine.

Mine went on with no trouble at all and it does seem to stiffen up the vert quite a bit. I think I will switch wheel/tires tomorrow from 16X7.5 wheels with 50 series and offset spacers to euroweaves with 55 series tires and stock offset.
