    What happened?

My car has suddenly started to let go of the back when i'm taking left turns. I can catch it so long as i'm doing less than 20 - 30 but I spun out recently at about 45. I have no issues at all when taking right hand turns at any speed.
I haven't investigated fully but does anyone have any ideas what might be causing such behaviour.
    Hmmm, curious.

    Cheers

The shitbox Bronzit 318 I used to have used to do the same thing. I once semi-looped it on an offramp in Boston, not even pushing it hard. I didn't put it into the wall, but came to a dead stop sideways across the ramp, and it was the type with concrete barriers on both sides so I was blocking the whole thing.

As I'm trying to get turned around, I see the headlights of the next car on its way down illuminating the walls. I see it coming around the bend (out my side window) and as luck would have it, it's a Crown Vic moving at a pretty good clip. He stopped in time, but I think we both shat equally.

Anyhow, I attributed it to rear subframe bushings that were completely blown out. Paired with Eibachs/Bilsteins and 325i rear sway bar made for a tail-happy little fucker.

Edit: in my case it was mainly right hand turns, but to be honest I scrapped the car before I ever figured anything out.

If the tires aren't worn out, the likely cause of this is worn trailing arm bushings or bent trailing arms. Possibly aggravated by worn subframe bushing. A four wheel alignment check will tell for sure if there are errors in the rear wheel alignment. Any toe out or a thrust angle will make the car prone to oversteer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
