newby introduction

hi guys/girls,

new to the forums.

my name is leigh. im 23. im a senior floor tech at a bmw specialist
im from auckland, new zealand
i have a lovely partner and a 15 month old son, and another little one on the way.

my e30 is just a rather tidy factory 318i atm.

its sitting on 16" alpina rep wheels.
and im currently half way through painting and fitting a genuine mtech2 kit.

ive got big plans for it. they are m20b23 or b25 turbo conversion, coilovers, and a motorsport interior. and a revamp of the sounds. and possibly some new rims but im not sure yet.

i currently have the getrag 260 for it. and manual conversion. and ive sourced a m20b23. just looking out for other options as ive got the m20b25 rotating gear. but good things take time.

i am looking forward to getting to know a few more like minded people.

its not much atm. just a m40 with a slush box. although the mtech2 rear end and tinted tail lights makes it look nicer.

Idk man,it looks pretty clean from that pic. And alpina reps! Who dosent want those? Any way good luck with the build man. Any reasons for not going bigger then the b25?

well basically its hard to find a b25. ive gotten lucky and found a b23. but i may bore out a b20 yet as i have the b25 rotating gear like i said. so ive got options i guess haha

He has an mtech 2 rear end though, and alpina reps.

That gives him at least 2 r3v hecklepasses. After 2 though, I can't say how badly it will go.

B23's aren't so bad. Only thing is you're going to want to get Megasquirt for it, or convert it to Motronic because L-Jet is an asthmatic old dog, with a lack of any tuning capability. This necessity will increase tenfold when you start pushing boost through it.
