Yea, I saw the show, Myth Busters, and they hard a hard ass time trying to get the vapors to explode.
As for pulling out fast, I just turn the nozel 180 degrees so that it kinda drips back into the nozel. Then pull it out. We all have our own little ways of doing things I suppose...

Joey Kramer (drummer for Aerosmith) lives in my town in Mass, and here is an example of what a huge dumbass he really is:
Several years ago he was in the next town over, filling up his yellow Ferrari at a gas station... with the engine running... while smoking a cigarette.
It didn't take long before he had set his car, and his arm on fire. Next time I saw him after that, he was driving a VW Bug.Leave a comment:

Did anyone see that video of the guy who caught on fire @ a gas station last year? He just ran in circles the whole time? O my God that was HILARIOUS.

Re: That was cool...
I call bullshit on that one. Granted, ANYTHING is POSSIBLE. Possible? Yes. Likely? No.Originally posted by franzCareful, you shouldn't get back in the car while filling up. It can build static and cause explosion. I heard of this from the Petroleum Institute. No joke. If you do, be sure to ground yourself after exiting before approaching the gas area.
You're gonna need some heavy duty fumes and a decent amount of CURRENT to spark flames. anywhere from 10,000V will pass through your hand in the form of static electricity. However, the current is so small, it's harmless. Look at the kind of spark we need just to cause an explosion inside our combustion chambers.
If you have cloth seats and you're wearing a fleece sweater while talking on your cell and pumping gas after being in your car, maybe you have an issue, but the studies i've seen show women as being the most involved, since they like to jump back in their cars while pumping.
Deal with the cold, pump like a man!!! ;)Leave a comment:

Pumping your own gas.... hahaha. I love just sitting in the car and having the gas station attendants do the work. (We can't pump our own gas in OR... against some law).
Actually, I've pumped my own a couple of times when I was up in Washington... kinda fun I admit... after I figured out how to work the damn computerized pump.Leave a comment:

I do that too. it's not my fault they haven't designed a better gas pump in the last 20 years.Leave a comment:

Re: That was cool...
A waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles eh? Well it took the pump maybe 10 minutes to fill the car up, it was so slow. And besided that I had just come from track practice in my shorts and t-shirt. It was around 0*. So don't call me a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles.Originally posted by JarvisPlus, waiting in the car is for pussies. I always just stand outside at the pump. I guess that's why something like 6 out of 7 of those reported "static-sparked gas pump explosions" were women. Stay outside at the pump, then there's nothing to worry about.
Yes, I know I am stupid for not wearing a jacket.Leave a comment:

I use the CC because I get double airmiles when I buy gas or eat at a restaurant.
The spark thing is unlikely. I shake the shit outta the pump so it doesnt drip on my car, Im more worried about my paint than my life.

Eh, that's questionable. Personally, I'm not too worried about that happening.Originally posted by franzCareful, you shouldn't get back in the car while filling up. I saw some lame show on the Discovery Channel with a couple dorky guys who tried to prove/disprove that - they couldn't spark an explosion at all, even when they were TRYING to purposely.

Zoolander, one of the all time funniest movies ever made. You've got to give it up for a movie with Will Ferrell, Jon Voight, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Jerry Stiller, Billy Zane and David Bowie all in it.Leave a comment:

haha best scene in the movie!!!Originally posted by RobIf there's anything that this horrible tragedy can teach us, it's that a male model's life is a precious, precious commodity.
