Sweet jesus! Lemme guess, he is a million years old, owns the building, has a ton of cars he could build and sell in a minute if he needed to, genuinly hates his wife and doesn't want to go home?

He's 22, has a barn with a lift, does have a ton of cars, not sure on building and selling, but at least one, maybe two that could be, love my GF (soon to be fiance), and the barn, etc, is 100 yards from home.

My shop rate is $90.

Generally if I'm helping friends with small stuff, beer and pizza will do. As long they know I'm in charge and they are at my shop and I make the decisions.

Bigger stuff varies if I'm doing side work. It all depends on PITA factor.

Taken my car to a couple local places for things beyond me at times. 80-100 per hour. Reputable shops too..

I pay nothing, only thing I have ever paid for is machine shop work on my m50 head.

Our shop charges $65-70/hr, and we specialize in 300zx's. Well underpriced in my opinion, but our customers love us. Our location/traffic limits us from really charging any more labor for off the street work because it's a somewhat poor area of town, whereas another location we could easily roll with $85/hr. Most local dealerships start at $90/hr.

50$/hr! retired bmw/mercedes mechanice. Fantastic work. If I cant do it/dont have the space/tools, it goes to him. Headache free everytime.
