TMS Meeting - M3 CSL Seat

Turnermotorsport had an open house/CCA meeting last night. Will showed me the factory seat from the new M3 CSL that they just got in (you can see in the latest Roundel they are doing their own version). Anyway, they paid $5k for the seat! Not through BMW but privately (someone in Germany bought a CSL and put in different seats).

The seat was relatively heavy - I'd say 5, definitly no more than 10, lbs lighter than my E30 manual sport seats. Definitely a lot heaver that the Sparco seat he had beside it.

They also had a bunch of stuff on display, including the McLaren F1 "Please do not touch".

And not just any ordinary McLaren F1, it was the uber-rare F1 LM, of which there are around 5 in the world. Hats off to Frank Seldorff for putting his 2.5 million bucks toward that work of art.

Sounds like all is well in Will's neck of the woods.

      Any pics of the LM?

That car is just unreal. I got a chance to drool over it at the Bavarian Auto Show this fall and, wow, it just made my life. The thing is a sculpture of carbon fiber.

Pete - if you're in the Boston chapter car club, make sure you sign up for their email notices. I think I got one from Turner too on their email updates.

                        Couple of observations...

Notice the numbers on the speedo....that's in MPH not KPH

And check out the turn signal and and wiper controls....very E30-ish.

I think thats just the "plain old McLaren F1". Selldorf's new one is the orange (or whatever color that is) LM. Not sure what he did with the old one - maybe its his daily driver?

Thats the regular F1 Frank owns. His LM is the standard Orange and black. amazing car, seen it many times.

FYI: While Will was lecturing about driving cars, my father asked
"So whats your favorite, the one outside?" (meaning the Pseudo M3 CSL)

                              Wills response: "No. My J-stock e30 M3"

                              booyah. CSL is ghey anyways
