And your engine is sexy. Great job. I'd say AWII it, all the work you did making that engine look so good to cheap out on the bay?Leave a comment:

it looks like you're shaving your engine bay, yes? If so, I'd go for the white. It's going to POP and make your engine look sweet!Leave a comment:

It's crazy how I have been debating this with myself for a while now and a thread pops up on it. Gotta love when that happensLeave a comment:

I can't answer your question, but I'm interested in this discussion. I'm not going to trailer my car to a painter to paint my bay. I don't have the skills to paint my bay with regular car paint and make it look professional. So I'm pretty much left with paints that are applied by the end user that are self-leveling and don't show mistakes well. That's the real beauty of bedliner because it doesn't show mistakes as much.
Maybe some industrial tractor or boat paint. They seem thicker and something you can brush on and it will look decent. POR-15 silver sounds like a good option too. Sub'd.Leave a comment:

Bedliner would look like fucking dog shit on a alpine. Just do a single stage alpine and be done.Leave a comment:

Yes, it takes the unintended hit from an uncontrolled wrench much better than the original paint does. I haven't had any chips/scratches yet and I am sure any touch-up required will blend decently. The one downside is that the texture means you cannot just wipe off the bay with a cloth to clean it up. You really need a damp rag or some water flow to wash away any dust as Ryann mentioned previously.
I wouldn't do it on a show-quality car where everything is expected to look immaculate and clean all the time but for those who want to spruce up a functional daily driven car by making the engine bay look a little more uniform and even a bit more rugged for those stray wrenches, then it is perfect.Last edited by Sagaris; 03-29-2012, 07:38 AM.Leave a comment:

Paint over it. If I don't like shit I painted, it get's more paint on top. Fuck it. I'm not a paint guy. I shouldn't even be painting shit. I leave that to the pros at Young's.Leave a comment:
