    New on R3V

What's up guys, names Derek and I'm fairly new on here. Been creeping looking at threads but this is my first post. Have a 91good 318is has about 172k on it and a little rough around the edges. I am from Rhode Islandon and been working on cars since 15. Now 23if and have been at a ford dealer for 5 years give or take. Backround has been dsm's mustangs many honda's and my miata which i am known for locally. This is my first bmw let alone german made car and i dont plan on going back. Fell in love with it just needed a little more power. Recently picked up a 525imeeting manual as a donor car and a build thread qill be made in proper section. Just sayin whats up and im new.

I got douched the first time I posted since I posted a "Hi guys! I'm new here" thread

Let me be the first, and hopefully not last, person to offer you a warm welcome. Enjoy the boards, grow thick skin, and don't care about the haters cause they've got nothing better going on in their life than to be negative to positive people.

Hope to see the 525 running like a beast soon

Once you go e30, you'll always go sturdy (lame pun, yes, deal with it..)

Welcome. Excellent base car to start with (lightest chassis). Pics of car and girlfriend will go a long way toward easing your entry here.

A little off topic, but what's lighter on a 91 318i(s) vs a 91 325i(s)? I know that the early 318i's were very light because of no power windows, locks, and such.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

                    ^ LOL?

I think he meant what otherthings were stripped out to make the differences between the 318is and 325is besides the powertrain..

the 84/85 318i was the lightest e30 chassis produced. At least in the US.
