Ok, here's the deal: I have a white '90 325is that I bought from Concord Motorsport. Here's the original car sale page: http://www.concordmotorsport.com/printable.asp?ID=3003
Tonight I see a white '90 325is for sale at Concord Motorsport, seen here: http://www.concordmotorsport.com/printable.asp?ID=3253
Mods to my car are as follows: Eibach spring and Bilstein shocks, Rieger-ish front lip, resprayed lowers. Not much else but it's very clean thanks to the PO. The catch is that it was wrecked... :curse: My friend lost it on some gravel and clipped a tree going about twenty. It's all been straightened out now but I will always be able to see the damage if not physically then mentally.
Now there's now way I would pay nearly 9k for that e30 but if they would come down to around 4 or 5k would it be a better platform for me to work with? Does anyone know where this car is from? I've been thinking that I don't really want to mod my car much more and will probably look for an M3 (e36 maybe?) in the future as it has nearly 210,000 miles. Is this "new" car really that much more of a reliable platform or should I just stick with what I have? If I stick with e30s I think I'd really like to go the turbo route but I worry about the longevity of my current engine. My tech says I should just go for the turbo and blow up the engine and keep the car and the turbo and just replace engines until something major blows. But then again he's nuts and he's not paying for all of that... (Come to think of it the more engines I blow the more money he makes...)
So, the final question is is it worth buying almost exactly what you already have, only with less history?
