M30 boost. M30 are cheap meaning you can spend more on engine rebuild and push for 800hp.

m30 drag car hasnt really been done I dont think. and Otis would probably love to see what his car could run if he were to set up the suspension for a strip:PsigpicOriginally posted by e30hijinksI move faster than "the speed of light." Out of the e36 24v motors the m52b28 is commonly cited as the best for boost. It has the same bore as the m50 (but longer stroke for more power!) so you have more iron and headgasket between the cylinders (and the water jackets) than the s50/s52. And you can make the same power as an s52 with just a little more boost, which the motor will be more reliable with than the s50 or s52.
So now comparing the m52 with the m30...
They have both been proven to handle more than 500hp.
But the m30 will result is a more flat torque curve at whatever your power goal is, given both are tuned well. And the m30 will get there with less boost. It's definitely debatable which will be more reliable under these conditions but i'd say the m30.
Also to note, the m30 was boosted from the factory (and called the M102B32 or M106B34) in the E23 745i.
In terms of cost, the m30 will be cheaper to buy, cheaper to build, and cheaper to rebuild if you need to do that.Zinno '89 <24v swap in progress>

Edit: I'm a dumbass. Read E30 not M30, my bad. Anyway, if these videos show anything, even a M20 can be built to incredible numbers, so no matter what you chose insane power is possible.
Anyway, check this thread out:

[QUOTE=Nsquared97;3120058]Nope, NOBODY has ever tried to make an E30 drag car...

I dnt think that's bmwsob.
But thanks for the input. I had been leaning towards the m30 for a while now. The rear end will start with the irs set up. And within a few years most likely end up fully done tubbed, 9inch rear end, shit lik that. This racing season just started so I'm in no rush as I'm planning on the is hiting the track next year. But the goal is to start off with mid 11's to keep the crew happy and myself. Then go from there. Rebuild for more boost, replace weakpoints, go faster.Originally posted by Good & TightIt takes real man to mount a big woman, all you haters are just scared boys.
