New to BMW's - Where to Buy Parts

Hey - Got my first E30 this past weekend and now I want to go over it and make sure all the basic ignition components, oil, fuel and Air filter etc. are up to snuff. Looking for suggestions as to where to buy.

I've used German Autoparts before with success - but wanted to know if there were other/better places to source parts.

    Thanks!

Dont buy upper strut bearings from Bavauto. Usually I buy everything from them, but my struts mounts started banging and clacking after 10k miles.

I buy from BMA Parts and have been for about 7 years. Pat is excellent to deal with.

BavAuto is pretty good as well, they are local-ish to me, so its great to not have to wait for shipping

Try to build your relationship with one or two parts places. They will get to know you and your needs. Good deals will usually follow and continue. Don't always chase the lowest price on the internet.

Get real familiar using RealOEM.com to do your own parts research. Enter the site and use your VIN from your car to get correct matches for part numbers.

Blunt is really good. He knows these cars and what is out there/available. I buy a lot from him.

I have bought from AutohausAZ and had good luck. They don't always have all the OEM parts, but they do list what the source is - BMW or other vendor.

With most of the on-line places, you need to be sure what it is you need. They may list more than one part, and it may or may not fit your application. In my case- Just because they say it fits an 88 M3, doesn't mean it fits all 88 M3's. There was a production change in August 1987, so there are early and late versions. Steve at Blunt would catch this. Other places, maybe not.
