Fieros are bad ass little cars

I have posted my brothers 86 gt build on here a couple of times. Will eat about 98% of anything found on the road and not just in a stright line either
what there is is a GT body

A different body for the fiero that he likes and the old one he doesnt like. wasnt available on the first year .

and the 88 model has several unique things all good. and it only has the gt body i think.

theres lots of things interesting about fieros. Did you know that in 84, the fiero was rated the 2nd safest car in crash safety to the volvo wagon?

the 1990 fiero ( unreleased)had a base 4 cylinder 190 hp engine. dohc all the real stuff.
It has the prototypes they show at conventions.

North stars were/are a common swap, but that was untill the. 3800 blown series II. Became more aviable. That and built. LQ1 's
N/S are a heavy under powered pos, it was the combo of v8 and fwd trans on the correct side that made them attractive. Hell the stock 2.8 60* v6 will hold 14lbs of boost all day. My bro was running 12 and that car was fucking fast. His is now a custom built lq1 with a hx55 and should hold 26psi. And make north of 600whp. Once he gets some time to tune it. Not to mention sitting on coilovers 88 brakes and suspension, orginal imsa 2 pieace. Wheels from the short lived fiero raceing class. Car is a beast

The 84 iron dukes were the only ones that had wireing harness fires and there were only a few that did catch fire.

It does not take much to trun a fiero in to. Go kart for the street. Other than the off throtel snap over steer when pushed hard you are hard pressed to fin a better handeling car for the mony

pretty amazing for a 14 year old girl. when i was her age, i was restoring a '78 pinto wagon.

i, personally, have never been a fan of the notch back body style of the earlier non-gt version, but then she is only 14.

my son and i restored an 88 thunderbird turbo coupe starting when he was 14 or 15. no, he did not to the work all by himself, but still a good way to pick up a self reliant skill.

i think the heavy hitters in the fiero scene generally drop northstar's down the rear hatch. that is something she can aspire to a few years down the road.

I'll give you that lol. But at least this has the same drivetrain layout and looks very similar to the car it started out as. Plus I have to admit I have always thought the latter fastbacks looks pretty good, and it could make for a very fun car with a bit of work.

There have been a lot of good American designed cars. The problem is that the bean-counters and safety nannies get too involved. "Oooo...this motor is too expensive, people will never buy this car." "This suspension is too stiff. Americans don't like bumpy cars." The end product is usually just a shell of what the designer had intended.

At least BMW is able to keep ~some~ of the perfomance in their cars for the American audience.

my brother bought a fiero from a tow yard for 400$ one time... he ended up giving it back pretty much. it needed too much work, and had thick sludge come out of the radiator.

however, it did work for a few days. we took it into the canyon twisties, and that thing felt so damn planted in those turns. it was amazing.
