    Finally

Checking one of my fav sites (hawaiisurfnews.com):
    North Kona 6 - 10 building WNW

I haven't really been on for the last few days because it is my real winter time.
Tuesday I went to Kua Bay (alot of people come here on vacation) and it was monstrous. Consistant 8-12 feet, with occasionals up to 20 feet WAY out back. I went with 2 of my cousins and a good friend, and nobody believes we went out to try and bodyboard :P. We were the only 4 people who even attempted to go into the water the whole day, nobody else even tried.
Wed. I just watched, it was a bit bigger than tuesday, but I had to go to school, and by the afternoon the water was blown out and getting rough and unridable.
Today was supposed to be the biggest day of the swell. Me and my friends planned to go back to Kua bay, but decided to go to Hapuna (great beach, hotel is right there, anyone who has been here probably went to this beach). Once we all met up and got ready to head ut, we got the info on every break. EVERY beach is closed. Cops are at the entrances to the main beaches, others had tractors push boulders into the roads so you cannot get in. Cops cleared out every beach with people, and they even closed the main beach road. Water was washing debris everywhere, and the waves were huge. Solid 14-20ft. sets. Me and my friends ended up watching a spot called tunnels, and we were amazed. There were about 6 bodyboarders and 1 longboarder out there. I saw some of the fastest riders I've ever seen :P These guys were coming down 18 foot waves, deeply barreled, and just shooting across the shore, skipping on the water the whole time. One guy broke a leash on his 2nd wave, swam in (huge surf, rocky shoreline, shallow reef. I don't know how he swam in), grabbed his board and went out again. He was riding drop knee on 20 foot waves like it was nothing.

On an even crazier note, The North Shore of O'ahu should be in the 35-40+ range right now :P
I know it's worthless without pics, but I will be taking pics tomorrow, I'm going to the beach from 6 till 7 (am to pm :P)

Awesome! I surfed some 10-12 foot waves last Sunday here in West Palm Beach, it was a blast!

Kick ass man! I haven't been out in a while considering the water temp is barely above freezing, but I can't wait to get out there again this spring. What kinda boards you guys riding?

I ride a 6'2" One World, performance shortboard shape with a fish tail soft rockers. I always ride with a trailing center fin as well.

Sick. I haven't stepped up to a shortboard yet; one, because I suck, and two, because we rarely get anything over knee-high. I've got an old school 6'9" fun shape from 1969. Its wide, slow, and very forgiving...perfect for me. 8)

            I ride a bodyboard :P
I ride my old school mike steweart mainly, although once in a while I use a new mike stewart, and a 2003 BZ. Whatever I have at the time.

Major bust today, the waves have dropped to like 6-10 :(

Oh well, I'm still going out, it should pickup again on sunday, just ride the mini's until then.

Well it's officially dead. All day the water was calm as hell :(

Next swell hits tomorrow, I leave for the beach at 6am, I hope to get at least 7 good hours of water time.

I'm going to Peurto Rico for spring break.
The resort has a 4 day clinic on surfing.

I hope to pick it up!
I'm also planning on learning to Scuba while I'm there.
