i had a 85 jeep cherokee before i got the e30 and it was sweet 135k miles tranny was in horrible condition from neglect but i beat the shit out of that thing , mudding every night after work i hit trees and rocks. the body was all rusty and had holes in it man it was a sweet jeep...you could wipe the blue paint off with your fingers cause it was like chalk it was kind of camo with rust, chalky blue paint, and white spots haha

    actually i have a pic

then i sold it to one of my co-workers for 400 bucks (it was sitting for about 1 year before he bought it) the night he got it he got pulled over for running a redlight because the brake stopped working and a tranny line burst the same night then the next day the u joints snapped in the front and the 4wd wasnt working haha he was pissed

I am actually impressed with the relaibility of my Jeep. I drive a 2000 Wrangler Sahara 4.0L. I am usually the one saying "I'll buy an American car when they learn how to build something that won't fall apart, economical, etc....." However, I love my Jeep. It sees much offroading, and its been dragged over rocks, trees, through water up to the wipers....(snorkel +winch :) )

In my opinion, its hard to go wrong with a Jeep with the 4 liter. Although its a Wrangler, its layout is very good, being very easy to work on for the most part, and being the most reliable American vehicle I've ever owned...... Kinda like my BMW or Mercedes-you can overheat it, run it with low oil pressure, even hydrolock the 4 liter with no damage! Very durable vehicles. I am kinda happy that I went for a Wrangler over a Land Rover Defender 90, cost being the main thing, but its the only American brand I'll buy.

IN nomral driving or on road superfaces the QUadratrac doens't lock 50/50, it works like 60 rear /40 front, it's just to have better contorl over the V8. Of corse I wold like to have a selectrac or comand trac(commonly found int he XJ) coupled to a V8 ZJ, but oh well......

I don't have any problems with the quadratac T/F at all in my customer's Jeeps.
