Ok what is so significant about an old GTP car? Mazda campaigned them for what 4-5 years but I don't think they every won at LeMans.Comment

They ran that chassis for two years. 1990, and 1991. They had the 767 in '88 and 767B in '89.
In 1991, the 787B won it and I think it was 787B-002 (out of 3 cars)
That win is the reason why the wankel has been banned by FIA from the 24 hours of Le Mans...
The person who drove it across the finish line drove it for something along the lines of 5000km that race. It was a LOT of laps.Comment

Don't start spewing that rubbish...
Sort of. The car set a new race record of 362 laps/4932.2km, which was for the whole 24 hours, not one drivers stint. Johnny Herbet did double stint the finish though, and collapsed from dehydration after the race, missing the podium celebrations.Comment

I made a personal assumption based on foggy memory. Honestly The one a year how many times did various Porsche 956/62 variants win 5, I think of the top of my head.
Jonny Hebert is like any other professional driver, he'll drive if your paying him. Great driver but still what's the significance of the clip?Comment
