If I have to choose this and new 6 series, I'd choose this one.

              Hmmm. My list is e9, race-prepped 2002, e30 M3, e28 M5, and E46 ZHP.

Yeah. That would be the shit. I think I'm gonna start on that.

Yeah UUC shift knob kills it for me, you'd think someone doing a proper restoration would have sourced an original shift knob or something at least period correct.

Have advertised in Roundel for years.

Their placard say Partial Restoration right on so with out calling them for details anyone could have put that shift knob on the car.

A few things about that car are odd, im no E9 expert though. My buddy bought an E9 two years ago, and Ive done quite a bit of work to it. This E9 has a distributor and fan clutch just like an E30. My buddy has a pertronix ignition system, im not sure if the distributor on this ebay E9 is stock or an upgrade? My buddy has the original style fan as well, no fan clutch. A clutch would be a nice upgrade as that fan is LOUD!!
Not digging the 5 speed shift knob, as these things are 4 speeds. Interesting carb setup on this car as well, are those webers?

It's listed as a 3.5L so without trying to guess what year the engine came from.

I like the 2002 listed except for the fact that it's a tragic and has big bumpers.

As M-technik-3 pointed out it does say 3.5L M30 so that would explain the distributor.

The other things you mentioned are also brought up in the item description if you read it.

                          - triple weber DCOE's
                          - 5-speed transmission

It's over priced at the moment, but in 5 years time I'd imagine this might be reasonable.

Early on the M30's had a distributor like you see there. They must have bored out the cylinders for the higher displacement.

As for the price being outrageous you should see what parts and decorative trim is going for. Just for the belt trim will run about 2.5k to 3.0k. So for a fully restored CS your gonna pay to that or more and I lean to the more side. I hope the seller gets it and even more. If he does it will be only cause the market will bear it. Which means these cars are gonna continue to go up in value.

                            Here's mine.

I saw a clean low miles 2.8 cs go for like 7 k local? this looks like a 25k car unless it has a story but doubt it does. The motor is a 3.5 now too which is nice but not original which is kinda a bad thing from a collectors point of view.
