How is it a (true or valid) physical representation if the car has never been stolen or in an accident?
Define true and valid as they relate to this circumstance. The car has a salvage title. True or false? If I went to the DMV, handed them the title to the car in question and told them that "it's not true" would my argument be valid? Is it even true? How do you know?
The truth is what's real - and what's real is a salvage title.

I saved up a lot of money. My parents never buy me anything really. I just spend wisely on things that I really want, and save up every cent I can get from car washes, details, and a small allowance ($15/week). I bought my car myself (along with every other item of value that I won), and still owe money on a loan that I'm paying interest on.
How the hell did a 15 year old get a loan? Also, how do you reasonably expect to pay it off?

My parents took it out for me. And I will get a job and save up. I'm not trying to be rude to you (sorry about my "fucking stupid" comment earlier) and I'd appreciate it if you did the same.
Yes it has a salvage title, but it's never been in an accident that deemed the vehicle a total loss or was bad enough for it to be salvaged. It may be "salvaged", but what does that even mean if nothing's ever been done to it for it to have been salvaged? It may affect resale value (which as I said above would be a logical reason to not invest more in the car), but it doesn't change what the car is.
I appreciate the apology. That's pretty mature for a 15 year old. Most people can't get as fired up as you did and then bounce back with a mature response. What's funny is that you and I are saying pretty much the exact same thing - but I didn't like how you made it seem as if the OP was wrong for being frustrated so I decided to be difficult with you. It's pretty clear why he's frustrated. Practice some empathy. Empathy is important in life - and it will make you better at whatever job it is that you get.

Dont sell it, thats super clean idk if thats a repaint but thats a real clean eta. im jealous cuz my eta isnt that clean even though many said it is lol
on the upside, good for you on gas honestly and its a classic, gotta give mad respect for such a clean E30. who gives a shit if the PO signed it over as a salvaged title, fool must be on crack or something because i honestly havent seen any damages at all(unless it was in the past) and was repaired.
But straight to the point, keep it, or youll regret it!

Thanks bro, I gave it a nice wax a few weeks back. But trust me, the car's paint looks like crap in person, freaking iPhone pictures are so deceiving lol. I was planning on taking it to get repainted next month but now I can forget about that.
The car is one owner and he was a Lutheran priest lol. All black interior, fully loaded, which is nice. Runs perfect now after busting my ass to get all the kinks out. The title problems I know will get sorted out, my concern is how long will it take.
Just want to chime in, I have a beat to shit eta with a "clean" title.
Through my various endeavors on fixing various things and dumping cash left and right. I found that the car mustve been in some type of accident. PO replaced front left fender, left side tow hook was bent upwards, and radiater support was a different color and seemed to be off a tad bit.
Titles represent the car 100% especially in terms of selling. It's a certified document of the supposed truth and has a large impact on the value of the car. Had I stumbled upon these findings when I bought my car I wouldve offered way less than I did.
A salvaged title is a salvaged title no matter what the seller says.
It is what it is. With that being said, I say keep it OP. If the car was not in any type of accident then you should pass the inspection and youll have a working car that you can sell if you want later on down the road. 3k is not that much when you consider how old the car is.
Was at the mechanics the other day, guy came in and said he bought a used 2005 audi a4 and after owning it a year he had to replace struts/shocks, timing belt, head gasket, a leaky diff, and leaking tranny. Consider yourself lucky LOL
I know how the op feels. Just realized the tcase on my ix is leaking and vc is shot. Not to mention other issues including ix suspension prices.(FML) For one thing, where do you find a guaranteed good tcase without dropping 2 grand? When I look at what my ix needs, I just listed it for sale to give it one last chance at an ethusiast owner. I dont have the time or parking space to tear this car down. I listed it for what I would get on trade in, $2K and I will trade it in if I cant sell. I love e30s but this car really crushed me. Most valuable lesson I learned is check EVERYTHING when buying a car even if you are there for 2 hours. If the seller gets impatient or jittery, RUN AWAY!
^ part it out and buy a RWD'er. less shit to break!
OP, ride through the storm. i've been hella frustrated with a lot of my cars but end up coming back to them in a week or so and being happy with them again. you love the car and it looks great. it's like having a fight with a good friend, eventually you'll calm down and it'll be as great as it ever was.
Yup, thank god the only problem the car had when I got it was it was running rich but that was fixed after changing a few sensors which solved the problem. I did all new bushings, tie rods, sway bar links, new rotors and pads, eibach lower springs, bilstein shocks, all new hoses, belts, all fluids changed, new tires, new sealed beam headlights, fog lenses are new, new kidneys, grills, some stuff for interior, speakers and radio, lol yeah I spent I a lot of money but thank GOD nothing leaks.
I'm keeping the car, NYS just needs to be moar fast with their salvage program haha.
