Well it's been 3 months and $3,000 later of dumping money in my 325e to bring her back to life.
Long story short, the car had sat in this kid's backyard for 12+ years ever since the original owner had signed the title over to the kid's dad (mechanic for the car) after the car started giving the owner the usual running rich problems b/c of unchanged sensors. The owner signed it as a salvage like a moron thinking it wrecked or something.
When I bought the car from the kid, I found out too late and tried just checking the other box on the salvage section of the title and explaining at the DMW that the car was not hit (yes, I tried to slip a fast one), but I knew it was a lost cause.
So now I'm going through the salvage program and have to wait another 1-3 months just to get it inspected for a clean title when the freaking thing was never hit. I'm forced to go through all of this just to get a new title, but I'm really just eff'n fed up and about to just sell the car whenever I get the new title.
Would you guys keep it after all that?
Picture of her in all her eta goodness.
