    Official 2012 DTM thread

Anybody following DTM this year? BMW came back to DTM after a long vacation and they took 1st on the 2nd race!!!

Cars are awesome looking, two door, wider, lower, longer! I LOVE the shots when they are shooting flames!

Bruno is 3rd in points after 2 races so far in BMW M3 DTM :)

When they asked Jensen Button what he has to say about Gary Paffett, he said the first thing that comes to mind is his big hands LOL.

Those things look like wild beasts! And the Dekra number plates add nostalgia...

So, now we can at least watch BMW in DTM again.

Funny thing is that the aero on this years cars are much tamer than previous years... Check out the rear diffusers and wheel arches!

Where do you watch these races? The cars look amazing. Are they still as wild and violent on the track as the old 80's videos showed?

Had the pleasure of attending the Lausitzring race in 2010, and caught Q session at the Norisring in Nurnberg. I also went to the 24h at the Ring, have been to Road Atlanta a bunch, including Petit.

For my money, there's no better looking or SOUNDING race car than the machines at DTM. (i've never heard F1 in person, so I'm excluding that) The thing is, they're fast, yeah, and they howl like banshees, especially the Mercs. . . but the racing is not as exciting as some of the Golden Years.

for those who haven't seen it, there's a 3 (or 4?) video series on YouTube called DTM History. The parts are called The Golden Years, Erste Klasse, and like The New Warriors or some shit. They're incredible.

I'll say this about the current DTM- they race harder than F1, but there are a lot of races where one guy pulls away early and the field just chases him in vain. As far as pound for pound racing thrills- you can probably find more action at your local track on an SCCA weekend, but the Machines and the howling, crackling monsters that lurk beneath the hoods of DTM rockets are otherworldly.

I download them in HD and watch it using a media player on tv, but I think these do come up on Speed as well? Sometimes you have to deal with it being just in german though..... still worth it imho, but I've always liked DTM.

I can think of one site in particular to Torrent it, but it's invite only.

Ton's of high quality streams of all kinds of racing. I've only watched the Hockenheim round so far, need to DL rounds 2 and 3 now.

Waiting for Monaco quali to DL as we speak.
