Just saw this, but it's for aero reasons (surprise right?) Reason being that there is less disturbance of the airflow beneath the wing resulting in a better low pressure area, and therefore more downforce. At least that is how it was explained to me haha.

I believe the vertical "fins" (that are part of the two posts holding up the rear wing) help guide/channel the airflow that's coming off the roof smoothly up and over the wing, to maximize the wing's effectiveness. The smooth airflow causes less drag than a more turbulent airflow, also, so it is more fuel-efficient. /Amateur AerodynamicsComment
