You should just go buy an E36.
So this is what 30,000 will buy you?

Here's one reason not to buy a 30K turd covered 2002:
What is the asking price? The car itself, engine S38, euro Evo cloth interior, with complete body restoration, custom work, tons of parts, and including the fact that I spent so much time (+500hours) and money on this project, the investments exceed more than +45k $. I am offering this car for the low price of $29,785.
Car is dynoed with the TMS chip at 283rwhp and 260rwptorque that comes to 333hp at the engine. With the stock chip it pulls around 275rwhp.

and no, its wasn't in a magazine.Leave a comment:

True, but their basic internal parts kit is $5000-6000 and comes in boxes.
Even if you pay them $8900 to put head and block together and drop it in a crate, it still doesn't include any of the timing/cooling/wiring, the injection/MAF/BBTB, the actual installation or any exhaust work. Putting the block and head together takes maybe a day, it's all of the little stuff on and around the engine that takes time and money.Leave a comment:

Uhm... S52B32US = 240 HP, Torque 259 Lb/Ft
MM 3.2 = 240HP, unsure of torque
@ altitude (per http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/...771cce5de9842/) 220whp, 200 torques.
so catastrophically wrong? unlikely.
Raxe, MM says it's around $9k assembled - not DIY.Leave a comment:

An M20 like that will run you upwards of $5k-10k+, and that's with doing your own assembly work. Knock the appearance all you want, but there's a shitload more than $3000 in it.Leave a comment:
