How I got burned for 410 dollars, and my quest to get it back

Mods please move if this is in the wrong place. I apologize if it is.

Alright. Enough is enough with this guy. I have put way too much good faith and trust in a stranger who, has no interest in doing the same. He has taken my money and ignored my repeated pleas to return my money in full for a completely damaged and mangled steering wheel that is just sitting in my trunk because I am too heartbroken and bitter to look at it. I literally sat at the post office parking lot tearing into the box in excitement, only to end up in tears for something that I spent my hard earned money on.
I even took some time to gather myself and thoughts before I sent him a message telling him to reimburse me. I tried to and ultimately wanted to tackle this in a civil manner.
Taking the high road is not in the cards anymore. I am out 420+dollars and this seller has ignored me, plain and simple.

On to the story and pictures:

I purchased this M Technic II steering wheel from this gentleman, and I use that term loosely, for 410 dollars. He originally wanted 380 picked up, but wanted 30 dollars extra for shipping. Again, no big deal. I even went ahead and paid the Paypal fee, putting me at almost 430 dollars for a steering wheel that used a pasted picture from the original eBay sellers ad. The picture in his for sale ad was a 385mm E34 M tech 2 steering wheel. He was advertizing a 370mm M tech 2 steering wheel.

    Here is his original ad:

You may have noticed it has been over a month now. I think it’s fair to say that I’ve given this guy enough time. Much more so than most people.

I try to be a great guy and put my faith in strangers I deal with in this medium. I believe the best in people. Enough so, where I put my trust in someone I’ve never met and send them a 410 payment minutes after I tell this guy I’d like to buy his steering wheel.

I’m looking for support. I’d really like this resolved. It has been a nightmare for me. My stomach feels like a pretzel because I hate confrontation and being forced to seek out what should have been taken care of weeks ago.

This guy has been active on this forum posting pictures of his M3’s, even as my PM’s fill his box and are consciously never answered.

I want my money back. Plain and simple.
He charged me 410 dollars(30Shipping), and did not insure this package. I spent almost 20 extra picking up the paypal fee as I mentioned above.
It’s time for this guy to do the right thing.

Let's get one thing clear, I do not think this guy would send me a mangled steering wheel. At least I hope not.

But whether the wheel was damaged during shipping or not doesn't make a difference. This guy made the conscious choice to save a couple dollars and not insure a wheel that the guy on the other side of the deal spent hundreds of dollars for. It's on him. I shouldn't have to face the consequences for someones ineptitude.

Sorry for the rambling rant. Onto the pictures. I believe they speak for themselves.

One of the many I took at the post office in disbelief

I have many more, but I think you probably get the point by now. I can assure you that it is MUCH worse in person.

My goal for this is just for some support in my quest to get my money back. I've been anxious about posting a thread about this for weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to read everybody.

Is that the box it came in in one of those pics? If so, it looks like it's in good shape.

Sucks that it got damaged, I certainly hope the seller didn't screw you by shipping a damaged wheel, but if he didn't purchase insurance, it's not gonna be covered.

Kids- this is yet another reason to spend the extra $$ and insure stuff like this- it CAN happen to you.

When you bought the wheel, did you include any kind of information on what you were buying, when you sent him the money through paypal? There's a little "message" field, where you could describe the item you're buying, it's condition and all that stuff.. If you did any of that, you can contact paypal and you'll get all your money back.

Edit: Oh and if you DIDN'T write the message, you miiiight still be in luck. If I were you, I'd contact Paypal first thing tomorrow.

If it turns out that there is nothing you can do, you might as well bend it back into shape and rock it. Otherwise, it looks like the other party owes you 400 bucks for sending you an already damaged wheel.

                Same here.
That's the guy with the 'titty mama' found in the Girlfriend thread. She's bangable but I'd quit after hitting it to be honest.

He's local, wonder if he makes it to any of the meets. I really hope this gets resolved, good luck op.

Edit: probably not helping but here ya go: http://s1107.photobucket.com/profile/obryan562

How does that even happen?? It's certainly curious that, as already noted, the box appears to be in good shape.

I feel the box would be super fucked up for that kind of damage...

Edit: And it also takes quite a bit to bend a factory wheel like that, correct?

Unless that thing got caught under a UPS truck I don't see how that much damage could occur. Unless it came from a rolled car in the first place

Usually I'm not the positive guy in the room.... but put a super fast steering rack on, cut the top and bottom and knight rider rock it.
